Is Fairlife Core Power Good on Ozempic, Wegovy or Zepbound?

Core Power is many people’s favourite tasting protein shake, and its verified label (26g of protein in 170 calories) meets the standard we use for GLP-1 rankings. Here is what the bottle shows, how it compares to leaner options, and how to decide.

Updated September 2026

Core Power qualifies for our GLP-1 rankings. The verified label on the classic 14 fl oz bottle is 26g of protein, 170 calories, 5 to 6g of sugar and 4.5g of fat, which meets the standard our Ozempic shakes ranking applies to every bottle: at least 10g of protein, 200 calories or less, and at least 8g of protein per 100 calories.

Qualifying is not the same as ranking first. The list orders bottles by protein per 100 calories, and Core Power carries 15.3g against leaner bottles like Premier Protein (18.8g) and Fairlife Nutrition Plan (20g). Plenty of people on Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro or Zepbound drink it anyway, because it is the shake they finish.

Figures from the verified US bottles in our catalog, September 2026. Fairlife is three different products. Core Power and Nutrition Plan both meet the GLP-1 standard as full bottles, and Elite qualifies as half a bottle (more on that below); the strongest on protein per calorie is the one nobody talks about, Nutrition Plan, at 30g in 150 calories.

Why people choose it anyway

  • It tastes like milk, because it is milk. Core Power is ultra-filtered milk rather than protein powder mixed into water, and most people can tell. If flavour aversions have made chalky shakes impossible, the creamier bottle that gets finished beats the leaner one that does not.
  • It is lactose free. The lactase enzyme in the ingredient list handles the remaining milk sugar, so it sits well with many people who cannot do regular milk.
  • The sugar is mostly milk sugar. The 5 to 6g on the panel is what remains of the milk’s own sugar after filtering, not table sugar. It still counts toward the day, but it is not the same signal as added sugar.

The honest case against it on a GLP-1

Per 100 calories, Core Power carries 15.3g of protein. Premier Protein carries 18.8g, Nutrition Plan 20g. On a medication that shrinks your daily calories to a fraction of what they were, that gap compounds: over a month of daily shakes, Core Power spends roughly 300 extra calories per week for less protein. If the taste difference is marginal for you, switch. If the taste difference is why the protein actually gets drunk, keep it and spend the calories knowingly.

What about Core Power Elite?

The 42g bottle is over the 200 calorie ceiling as a full serving, but its protein per calorie (18.3g per 100) is better than the regular Core Power, so our rankings treat it the way many GLP-1 users actually drink it: as two servings. Half the bottle is 21g of protein in 115 calories and meets every number in the standard, so Elite can appear on the shake rankings marked as half a bottle, with the halved numbers shown. Drink half now, refrigerate the rest, and it is one of the better value protein sources in the fridge. If splitting a bottle is not your style, a 30g bottle you finish in one go does the same job; the reasoning is on the Mounjaro and Zepbound shakes page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Fairlife Core Power good for Ozempic?
Yes, on the label. The verified bottle carries 26g of protein in 170 calories with 5 to 6g of sugar and 4.5g of fat, which meets the standard we use on our Ozempic shakes ranking: at least 10g of protein, 200 calories or less, and at least 8g of protein per 100 calories. Leaner bottles exist (Premier Protein and Fairlife Nutrition Plan carry more protein per calorie), and the ranking orders qualifying bottles on exactly that number.
Which Fairlife shakes qualify for the GLP-1 rankings?
All three, in different ways. Core Power (26g in 170 calories) and Nutrition Plan (30g in 150 calories) qualify as full bottles; Nutrition Plan delivers more protein in fewer calories, so it ranks higher. Core Power Elite (42g in 230 calories) is over the 200 calorie ceiling as a full bottle, but half the bottle is 21g in 115 calories and meets every number, so it can appear in the rankings marked as half a bottle.
Is Core Power okay on Zepbound or Mounjaro?
The label reads the same whichever GLP-1 you take: tirzepatide and semaglutide both shrink appetite, so the question is whether 170 calories of shake is the best use of a small appetite. If you love the taste and it helps you hit your protein number, that consistency is worth real calories. If you want maximum protein per calorie, Nutrition Plan or Premier Protein does the same job leaner.
Why does Core Power have sugar when Premier Protein has 1g?
Core Power is ultra-filtered milk, and the 5 to 6g on the label is mostly the milk sugar that remains after filtering, not added sugar. Premier Protein is built from milk protein concentrate in water, so almost no milk sugar comes along. Both use sucralose and acesulfame potassium; Core Power also lists stevia and monk fruit.
Is Core Power lactose free?
Yes. The ingredient list includes lactase enzyme, which breaks down the remaining lactose, and Fairlife markets the whole range as lactose free. That makes it one of the easier milk shakes to tolerate if lactose is your issue.
